THE GILBERT SCHOOL VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT

     The Gilbert School Veterans History Project hit the ground running with the second semester of the 2018/2019 school Year. Mrs. Sultaire’s Honors class started the project and were able to complete five collections. We currently also have three collections  in progress. The completed collections are archived at the Gilbert School library and the Library of Congress.  You can view these collections in their entirety on this site.​

Here you can explore the VHP interviews and collection archives that have been organized and created by The Gilbert School students. Initially we are focused on interviewing local veterans from the Winsted, Connecticut area. We are happy to interview veterans who are willing to travel to our school. Completed collections are archived at The Gilbert School Library as well as The Library of Congress. Most of the collections will include a video interview of the veteran as well as the photographs, personal papers, diaries, publications and other documents provided by the veteran. Some collections are created posthumously and therefore do not have a video interview.
